A prominent Egyptian businessmen in the IT sector and a leading political figure in Egypt, Dr. Ahmed Said’s propensity for leadership, innovation, management and marketing have established him as an agent of change within Global Brands Group.
Displaying a clear aptitude for planning and management, as well as a history in governmental affairs, decentralization and management information systems development, his track record with the Egyptian government, as well as Procter & Gamble, have given him all the tools necessary to launch the company with CEO Hisham Said in 1997.
Said was one of the founders, and the first elected president of the Free Egyptians Party (FEP); a party that was founded in April 2011 and was backed by leading business, political, and cultural leaders. The FEP supported the principles of a liberal, democratic, and secular political order in post-Mubarak Egypt. He then won a seat in the Egyptian parliamentary elections of November 2011. In 2015 Dr. Said won a seat once again representing Cairo in a newly elected parliament and served a five-year term as an MP. He also chaired the Foreign Relations Committee in Parliament.
On the sports level and in 2014, Dr. Said was elected as vice president to Al Ahly club; one of the most internationally successful football clubs in the world. He was also the Egyptian champion of swimming 100m butterfly, as well as the African & Egyptian record holder in the same event from 1977-1987. His athletic career was crowned by representing Egypt in the Los Angeles Olympics of 1984.
