Global Brands Group partners with AWS DeepRacer in Egypt, inspiring students and graduates in AI and ML fields.

Global Brands Group (GBG) recently joined forces as a Select partner in the AWS DeepRacer event held in Cairo, Egypt, from January 14 to February 17, 2025. This event, under the patronage of Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and hosted by the National Telecommunication Institute, brought together students and fresh graduates from various universities and institutes, offering a platform for learning and engagement in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
Empowering Youth Through AWS DeepRacer Program
The AWS DeepRacer program is an innovative initiative that allows participants to dive into the world of ML by training autonomous cars in virtual races. This year’s event not only underscored Egypt’s commitment to advancing AI infrastructure but also highlighted efforts to equip the nation’s youth with essential knowledge and skills for the future.
Karim Mustafa, Technical Solution Architect at GBG, represented the company by giving a talk to the participants. His presentation covered a wide range of AWS services and solutions, along with sharing valuable career tips and advice. Mustafa also discussed job and internship opportunities available at GBG, further demonstrating the company’s dedication to fostering talent and career growth in the tech industry.
At the event, we had the privilege of meeting influential leaders, including AWS Country Manager, Eng. Mohamed ElShanawany, and Sherif Dessouky, Head of Public Sector for the Rest of the Middle East and North Africa at AWS. Their presence highlighted the collaborative commitment to advancing AI and ML innovations across the region.
Additionally, AWS offered consultations to participants, providing hands-on experience and guidance in training their ML models. The main competition, held on February 4, saw participants race their virtual cars, applying the skills they had developed during the training sessions. The event culminated in a live ceremony on February 17, where AWS Partners presented and engaged with attendees, marking a significant milestone in the participants’ learning journey.
