Job Overview:

As an UC Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s Microsoft Exchange Server infrastructure and Teams Voice. You will work closely with the UC team at global to ensure the reliable and secure operation of the Exchange environment, enabling seamless email communication across the organization.

Responsibilities For Exchange:

  1. Exchange Server Management: Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Exchange Server infrastructure, including mailbox databases, client access servers, transport servers, and connectors.
  2. User Management: Create, modify, and remove user mailboxes and distribution groups. Manage mailbox permissions, email addresses, and distribution lists.
  3. Email Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect against spam, malware, and unauthorized access. Monitor email traffic for potential threats and take necessary actions to mitigate risks.
  4. Email Policies and Compliance: Establish and enforce email policies, retention policies, and archiving procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and data governance.
  5. Backup and Recovery: Perform regular backups of Exchange databases and implement disaster recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor Exchange Server performance, analyze bottlenecks, and optimize system resources to ensure optimal performance and responsiveness.
  7. Patch Management: Keep Exchange Server and related components up to date with the latest security patches and updates.
  8. Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve issues related to email delivery, connectivity, and client access. Provide timely support for user-reported problems.
  9. Collaborate with IT Teams: Work closely with other IT teams, including network administrators, system administrators, and security specialists, to ensure smooth integration and operation of the Exchange environment.
  10. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for the Exchange Server infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
  11. Capacity Planning: Monitor resource utilization trends and plan for future growth and expansion of the Exchange environment.
  12. User Training: Provide guidance and training to end-users on using Exchange features effectively and securely.

Responsibilities Teams Voice:

  • Complete PBX migration via Microsoft Teams Enterprise voice
  • Provide Microsoft Teams solution design, plan and delivery in complex and regulated locations with multiple separate legal entities collocated in the same site.
  • To create or validate inter-relationships between PBX users in same or different sites and to design corresponding MS Teams features and dependencies;
  • To create/validate PBX to Enterprise Voice migration plan, to ensure all deployments meet the level of readiness as stipulated by the user migration team.

Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge about Unified Communications / Collaboration industry standards & trends
  • Strong presentation skills in verbal and written communication,
  • Skills and proven experience with following products:
    • MS Teams Voice
    • SIP Protocol
    • MS Teams endpoints including but not limited to IP phones
    • Powershell
    • Knowledge about various PBXs including but not limited to Avaya, Cisco, Session Border Controllers & Media Gateways SIP trunks (Centralized, Local)
    • Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging
    • Knowledge of all Microsoft Cloud PBX features and system/user administration.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an UC Engineer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server, including different versions (e.g., Exchange Server 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, or Microsoft 365 Exchange Online).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of email protocols (SMTP, POP3, IMAP) and email routing.
  • Experience with email security solutions, such as anti-spam, anti-malware, and encryption technologies.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Certifications like Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate are a plus.
